These turnovers are a easy, yummy recipe full of fall flavor!
Ingredients
- 4 Granny Smith Apples

2 tbsp Butter, melted
-
3 tsp Cinnamon
-
¼ tsp Ground Cloves
-
¼ tsp Salt
-
1 tbsp Cornstarch
-
3 tbsp Honey
-
2 tbsp Bourbon
-
2 sheets Puff Pastry
-
1 Egg, beaten with a dash of water for egg wash

Water

Sugar, optional
- ¾ cup Powdered Sugar

1 tbsp Milk
-
¼ tsp Vanilla Extract
Glaze
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
Peel, core, and slice apples, place them in a mixing bowl.
Pour the melted butter over the apples.
Add cinnamon, ground cloves, salt, cornstarch, honey, and bourbon and mix well.
Pour the apple mixture into baking dish and bake until the apples are fork tender.
While apples are baking, roll out puff pastry to a square, then cute into 4 squares.
- Repeat with 2nd sheet. Once apples are done baking, preheat oven to 400 F.
Place puff pastry on cooking sheet, lined with parchment paper.
Spoon about 2 spoonfuls of apples into each puff pastry.
Brush each edge with water and fold puff pastry to seal.
Take a fork and crimp edges to seal shut.
Slit 2-3 slits on top of each turnover.
Brush each turnover with egg wash.
Sprinkle with sugar.
Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
Let cool.
While turnovers are cooling make royal icing or glaze for drizzle.
In small bowl whisk glaze ingredients together. Once turnovers are room temperature drizzle on top.
